Black Magic treatment

Ever sit at work and feel like you are being watched well just maybe it’s not your boss doing the watching, maybe your workplace is in fact haunted by some unseen spirit. Here you will read about true tales of hauntings that have and are taking places in many of the workplaces through out the world. The places have not been named as to protect a surge of investigations.

There may be many reasons why a workplace is haunted, there could have been a tragic accident or maybe someone really enjoyed their job, so that after passing they might still want to continue to work, or if the workplace could have been built on haunted land. Here are just a few incidences of workplace related hauntings.

Nursing homes and hospitals seem to top the list of haunted workplaces, as life seems to play out in these facilities. In nursing homes, many elderly persons go there to live out their remaining years and many deaths occur there on a regular basis, it goes for hospitals also.

There are many reports of nurses on the “graveyard” shift “seeing” patients that they could not account for. One nurse that worked in a nursing home wrote to us about an elderly man that was constantly seen peering through the windows on the door for an upstairs wing. Many new nurses thinking that an elderly patient was lost would give chase only to find out that no such patient was missing or lost.

Other nurses in the same home reported seeing a tall woman in white that would go from room to room, thinking that one of the patients were out of bed a thorough search was made only to discover that all the patients were accounted for and asleep.

At another facility for rehabilitation a nurse wrote to us about patients that saw a woman come into their room and hide in their closet, the two frightened woman called the nurses station and someone went to inspect the closet, they of course found no one. They calmed down the two women and went back to the station, not two minutes later the patients in the same room called the station again and said that the woman had just come out of the closet and walked through the wall by the window.

Many nursing homes and hospitals report that at a dying patients bedside there will be specters of the persons family members as if they are waiting to escort them after death. This although frightening to some may in fact be a comfort to many terminally ill people, that they in fact would not be dying alone but in fact be surrounded by family members.

Also many nurses and orderlies wrote to us about seeing apparitions in hospitals especially around the morgue area, perhaps this is where their earthly bodies were last and they wanted to be close to this place.

One woman that was in visiting a very sick relative in intensive care reported to us of seeing a relative of hers checking up on the patient as if that relative was still among the living and just carrying on the duty of seeing to a sick family member.

A woman that worked in a cafeteria reported that when she came to work early in the morning to set up for the day, she would hear the food trays being pushed along the rails as if someone was pushing them along to pick up their food and beverages. When she stepped out into the serving area no trays were out of place.

Storeowners also report mysterious noises and movement of objects as if the unseen apparition is unhappy with the way the store is set up. A local antique shop owner reported strange occurrences just after he purchased a sideboard from an estate sale. Working late at night he would often hear the sound of many voices in the front of the shop, but upon closer inspection he would find that he was alone. Things placed on the sideboard for sale would be found moved to another area as if someone did not want the items there. Many other noises would occur throughout the store, with no explanation as to what was causing them. Strangely all occurrences would stop as soon as the sideboard was sold. It makes you wonder if the new owners of the haunted sideboard were having any strange things happening in their home.

Many reports of haunting were reported in a local factory that was once an institution for the mentally ill. Workers on the late shift would report the disembodied screams and moans of the long ago patients. One work room was especially bad with screams and moans, strange banging sounds and just a feeling of despair, that when the factory’s owner did some research he found that this room was used for the hydrotherapy of the seriously mentally ill. This hydrotherapy was a bathtub filled with warm water in which the agitated patient would be immersed into; a heavy leather cap would be put over the entire tub only leaving the patients head visible. The water in the bath was then changed by a serious of pulsating bursts that were meant to calm the patient, but many became violent kicking the sides of the tub, moaning and screaming until finally they relented and became subdued.

A town hall in the northeast was having a lot of unexplained hauntings. Many workers going down into the vaults to put away important documents would report hearing someone crying in the long depths of the cellar. A psychic was brought in and this psychic picked up the spirit of a mentally ill man that had been locked down in the depths of this cellar by orderlies to see if he would be frightened. The town hall had a history in the early part of the last century it was a mental hospital where many acts of cruelty was uncovered causing the hospital to close it’s door.

Also in this same building many workers reported the vision of a small boy with a facial deformity hiding in fear from the ward guards that would come and torment him at night. It is reported that many parents in the early 1920s faced with a child that had a deformity would in fact place them into this hospital and literally forget about them. The orderlies at that time were indeed called ward guards.

The hauntings in workplaces is not a new occurrence, but there have been many accounts of ethereal visions through out time.

In the 1860s one farmer could not get his farm hands to work in a certain area of his farm. No matter what he tried they would refuse claiming that they heard disembodied voices, pleading for help, calling for a mama, moaning and screaming. At first the farmer did not believe them, believing that they were trying to get out of doing work, so he went out to the area that the farm hands heard the noises in.

At first all the farmer could hear was the area sounds of the wind, birds and other noises, but soon these common noises were replaced by voices. At first the farmer suspected his farm hands of playing a trick, but after searching he could not find them. So the farmer began to listen, he heard a voice that was calling out to some ones momma, another calling for help, still another repeating water, water over and over again. These voices seemed to fill the air with the moaning and groaning, frightened the farmer ran back to his home, vowing never to return to that area of his farm. After he had calmed down he realized that acreage was used as a temporary gravesite for the many wounded and dying victims from the Gettysburg battle, until they could be relocated to a permanent gravesite.

Satanism

Defrocked priests started Satanism during the burning times, which was the burning of people at the stakes for witch craft. There are two main satanic denominations, many smaller traditions and many solitary practitioners. Satanists do not believe that a redeemer lives. They place emphasis on the power and authority of the individual Satanist. Satanists believe in Satan as a living entity but they claim no to worship or show any faith in him. They believe that all should live out their lusts and desires and enjoy exploring the seven deadly sins. Which is lust, gluttony, pride, covetous, anger, envy and sloth's, being lazy.

As a symbol Satanist use a goat's head drawn with an inverted pentacle which is a 5 pointed star that has one point downward while two is up all of this has a circle around it.

Local groups of Satanist may be called grottos, pylons or temples. Satanist use magic and other rituals to benefit themselves and their friends, but they also use rituals to harm their enemies. Satanist tend to be highly critical of other faiths especially Christianity.

Paganism

Paganism is a religion and should not be taken as a joke. For some it is a different way of looking at the world just as much as any of the other religions do. Although it is not a cult as it does not look at one leader for the answers to problems, rather pagans tend to be individuals that are a free thinking group of people. Pagans respect for nature and believe that a divine lives in everything.

Many pagans believe in developing a relationship with their gods and goddess through spell work and meditations. There is a pagan calendar that has holidays that they celebrate.

Pagan congregations some times are called covens, circles or study groups. Also there are many solitary practicing witches too.

Pagans do not worship Satan or the Lord, rather they have an endless number of pre-Christian deities that they worship instead. They do not believe in notions of good and evil, they only believe in appropriate or inappropriate actions.

One thing Satanism is not a pagan tradition; most witches take a serious offense to be confused with Satanists.

Voodoo

Voodoo comes from Africa but the main structure was born in Haiti, it developed in the African culture by the European colonist's slave trading. By trying to keep the tribes separated the colonists inadvertently helped the transplanted Africans to find a common thread through their faith.

The slaves began to invoke not only their own gods but also those of the different tribes, they soon began to modify the rituals of the other tribes and combine them with their own. This created a new religion-voodoo.

What is the essence of voodoo? In the voodoo society they believe that there are no accidents, that the entire universe is one that each thing that is done affects something else. So what it means is that what you do to someone else you do to yourself as well.

Voodoo ceremonies believe that the spirits of ancestors can bring either good or harm and thus must be honored in these ceremonies. Their rituals include prayers, dancing and singing and animal sacrifice as an offering for the spirits.

Voodoo translated means the snake under whose auspices gather all that share the faith; this is why the snake figures heavily in the voodoo faith. Practitioners believe that the spirit of the snake possesses their high priestess or priest showing the snakes power. There are many spirits that are believed to possess the faithful during the voodoo ceremonies.

Music and dance play a big part in the ceremonies, it is an expression of spirituality and is a connection between the believer and the spirit

Santeria

Santeria, translated means the way of the saints. It is a religion that has a Caribbean origin; the Spanish applied it as a demeaning reference to the people. They felt that these people had an unusual devotion to Saints rather than to Jesus Christ.

Many of the Catholic saints are given names in the Santeria faith; for example St. Lazarus became Babalz Ayi.

God is referred to as Olorun, the "owner of heaven: He needs food in the form of animal sacrifice, prepared dishes as well as human praise.

Ritual sacrifices play an important part in Santeria, the animal blood, commonly chickens I collected and offered to Olorun, it is thought that this blood pleases the saint thus bringing good luck, purification and forgiveness.

As in Voodoo, the dance plays an important part believing that it brings possession to individuals. Also as in voodoo the ancestors play an important part as an example and a guide.

There are many national variations to this religion.

Hoodoo

Hoodoo is a folk religion that originated in the southern US. Hoodoo and Voodoo do share some of the same components, but the terms used refer to different beliefs. Hoodoo is based on African practices and many Native American use of herbs and plants. Christian and Jewish practices have also found their way into the Hoodoo religion.

The difference is that Voodoo is a religion that has been established over the years and is influenced by Catholicism while on the other hand Hoodoo is magic and not a religion and is influenced by Protestantism and Evangelical movements in the south.

Hoodoo has many areas of everyday life that it influences love, gambling, the treating of diseases, employment and even the darker elements of cursing one’s enemies and necromancy, the conjuring of the dead. In Hoodoo the use of many home made potions and charms is widely used.

Because Hoodoo is based largely on one individuals magical power the practices and rituals are adapted based on a what a person wants and desires the most in life, what they are inclined to do to achieve that and their every day habits. There is no structured system for Hoodoo the practices are passed from person to person through generations.

In Hoodoo the use of herbs, minerals and parts of animal’s bodies as well as a person’s possessions are of great importance in doing a spell. Also used greatly are any bodily fluids but the most important ones are blood from a menstruating woman, urine and semen.

Most practitioner of Hoodoo have been black people but there is also white and Native Americans that practice the art of Hoodoo also.

The main goal of Hoodoo is to allow people to influence and guide their daily lives through supernatural forces.

Everyone has either seen or heard about the movie the Christmas Carol that was adapted from a story by Charles Dickens, in the story a miserly man Ebenezer Scrooge is haunted by three apparitions that hope to change his feelings for man kind and Christmas, in the end they succeed and he is redeemed.
The Christmas season is reported to a very active time for hauntings perhaps it is all the recognition or the excitement, or it being a very holy time but ghost sightings seem to increase over the season.
There are many reports of deceased relatives returning on Christmas Eve as if to wish their loved ones a Merry Christmas. There is a man who reports that on Christmas Eve his mother’s spirit visited him and his wife as they sat in front of the fireplace, she never said anything she just sat there looking at them both smiling. Another report of a Christmas haunting is not as pleasant as the first one, this ghost seemed to like to push and shove newcomers to its former house as if to say it did not want any outsiders infringing on its Christmas celebration.
A young mother reported of a strange encounter with a young man when she tried to purchase a purse for a gift, she heard a voice from out of the air that said to her to be careful she was being followed, she left the store, but found that he had some how followed her to another store, she saw him many times in different places throughout the store. She finally summoned help from a security man telling him she was being followed by a strange young man in a trench coat and could she get someone to follow her to her car. The security man told her to wait there, and he would be right back. As she stood there waiting for someone to come walk her to her car, she again saw the man in the trench coat, he glared at her to let her know that she had thwarted his plans, she knew that a guardian angel ha! d warned her of his evil plan for her.
There is another true story from England of a young man driving home along the coast during Christmas time and he witnesses the ghost of a man dressed in a monk’s robe looking down at the sea, there is a report of someone having committed suicide in that area.

A woman who lost her mother three years before Christmas reported that her phone rang in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve, she answered it to a woman saying a pleasant "hello there" she immediately recognized her mother’s voice, the phone line had a lot of statice and it seemed to cut in and out, she said to the voice, "this can’t be my mother she is dead" to which the voice responded "nonsense" and the phone call was cut off. The woman is convinced that it was indeed her mother somehow calling from beyond the grave. Other family members report hearing the phone ringing in the middle of the night.
There is a story of a couple spending Christmas a beautiful Victorian bed and breakfast in Oklahoma. The bed and breakfast was all decorated for Christmas in the Victorian era decorations. The couple knew that the home was haunted by many newspaper articles to the such. The couple took a room downstairs by the stairway, to the woman it felt very heavy but they took it any ways. The woman who owned the house explained a little bit about the various hauntings of the home, there is a male entity that has been seen in the living room he is dressed in black. There has been the reported sighting of a woman in a yellow ball gown, she has been witnessed by many guests many of these guests have fled the B&B in fright, and there is a reported sighting of a cat.
The woman that night as she got ready to go out, felt that she was being watched, perhaps it was all the talk that afternoon of the spirits that supposedly haunted this house, but whatever it was she became very uncomfortable. She was glad to leave the house t! hat evening.
There are many more true accounts of Christmas time hauntings, perhaps being visited by Christmas apparitions is not all together a Christmas story of long ago, perhaps it is something that is going on today.

There are many areas of the world that are considered cursed by either what occurred there or by a person or group of people who actually place a curse on the area or still it could be possible that the area was all ready cursed for some unknown reason.

The first area that we are going to visit is the Windy City, Chicago, all though Chicago is noted for its many haunted locals, there is a legend of a curse that was placed on the Chicago Cubs back in the year of 1945. The story begins with a man named William Sianis or better known to his many friends as Billy Goat. Sianis was the owner of a tavern which is now known as the Billy Goat Tavern. He was an immigrant from Greece and an avid baseball fan. The year of 1945 the Chicago Cubs were to play the 4th game of the World Series against the Detroit Tigers at Wrigley field, Sianis purchased a box seat for two for $7.20. He took his goat, Murphy to the game. He and the goat were allowed to come into Wrigley Field, and they paraded around the field until the ushers led them off the field. Sianis did not like this one bit and a heated argument began, afterwards he and the goat were allowed to take their box seats. The game began, but before the game was over, Sianis neighboring seat attendees complained to the ushers of the awful smell of the goat, Cubs owner Philip Knight Wrigley had no choice but to eject both Sianis and Murphy before the game was over.
Sianis was so angry over this ejection that it is said he issued a curse that the Cubs would never win another pennant or play in a World Series game at Wrigley Field ever again. Not surprising the Cubs lost that game 4 and the World Series to Detroit, naturally Sianis wrote to Mr. Wrigley asking him one question . . . "Who stinks now?"
For the next 20 years the Cubs would only finish second in their division series, since that time the cursed Cubs have not won a National League pennant or played in a World Series until the 2004-2005 season.

Our next cursed location is the infamous Bermuda Triangle that is located just east of Florida. The points of this legendary triangle are said to be Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Miami.

The first legend of the Triangle began with Christopher Columbus as he and his crew sailed into the Triangle waters he reported in his log that his compass began to act strangely. Later he reported seeing a fire ball falling from the sky, this could have been a meteor, he kept these things from his all ready superstitious crew. Later on he and the crew all saw dancing lights on the horizon, all though they saw sea weed and land birds the ship would wander the Caribbean for a week without sighting land.

Since the time of Columbus there have been reports of at least 100 ships and planes being lost in the Triangle with many lives on board. On December 4, 1872, the crew of the Dei Gratia found the Mary Celeste drifting in the Triangle, they boarded the Mary Celeste and found it to be abandoned. All though the ships had left New York for the trip to Genoa together, the Mary Celeste seemed to have a haphazard route, so the captain of the Dei Gratia decided to investigate. He found that the Mary Celeste was in perfect running condition, the sails were still set, all was intact on board except for one life boat which seemed to have been deployed. Of course there are many stories concerning this, from bloody swords under the captains bed to disembodied voices sucking off crew one by one into a dark underground world.

Another famous disappearance in the Triangle is that of flight DC-3, in December of 1948, it had originated in San Juan Puerto Rico to Miami, Florida. It was a perfect take off and about 50 miles from Miami the plane radioed in, the tower radioed back, but they never received a reply back. Shortly after making radio contact with the tower at Miami Airport, this plane with 30 passengers vanished from the clear and calm night sky. Search parties were sent to scour the land where it was believed that the plane had crashed, there was not a sign of any wreckage either on the land or in the 20 feet of water, officials are still puzzled as to why this plane that was being flown by a seasoned pilot could have just disappeared.

There are even reports of disappearances and strange occurrences to this day. Many people have many theories about the Triangle. This area is known for its sudden storms where a complete whiteout condition is formed in seconds along with strong winds and waterspouts as well as other dangerous conditions associated with these storms. This is thought to be one explanation of how a ship or plane could simply disappear.

Other people believe that the lost city of Atlantis is in the area known as the Triangle, they feel that the powers of the lost city could be responsible for the disappearances. Other people believe that these disappearances are due to UFOs. Perhaps we will never know.

Our next cursed location is Lake Ronkonkoma in Long Island, New York. It is the largest lake in Long Island that is located in an area that is rich in American Indian heritage. Perhaps this is what has started the urban legend about the lake being cursed.

The lake at one time was deemed a sacred lake by the Indians and it was also a meeting point for tribes in the area. Different tribes controlled different areas of the lake. The legend says that an Indian Princess fell in love with a white man, knowing that her father would disapprove she would meet him by rowing out to the middle of the lake, one night her father saw this clandestine meeting and he killed the white man, the Indian Princess was so distraught that she rowed out to their meeting place in the middle of the lake and killed herself.

This bottomless lake that empties into Long Island Sound seems to make a sacrifice to the Legend of the Lady of the Lake each year. This legend contends that this Lady of the Lake calls to young men that are swimming in the lake to come to the middle and then she drowns them. There are a lot of unexplained drowning of young men in this lake. Whether it is because of some curse, no one knows for sure.

Our next cursed area takes us to the state of New Jersey. The Pine Barrens is a section of New Jersey that is the reported home of the Jersey Devil. The Pine Barrens area is a dark and beautiful place where the red waters of the Mullica River rise to meet the bog in town. The cedars that line the river banks stain the waters a deep reddish color, and this helps with the appeal of the legend of the area. This area of Southeastern New Jersey was originally inhabited by the Lenni Lenape Indians until white settlers settled in the region in 1609. At first it seemed a promising area for a settlement, but the land was inhospitable due to the dry and infertile land which could not support any farming. Later bog iron was discovered and it became very rich in industry, this iron supplied a large percentage of the iron used for ammunition during the American Revolutionary war. But the prominence was short lived as a higher grade of iron was discovered in the west thus shutting down the Pine Barrens main industry.

Desperate the people of the Pine Barrens turned their endeavors to the wood industry, this did not prove profitable for very long, the residents were thrown into poverty. This all seems to intensify the urban legend of the Jersey Devil.
The Jersey Devil is described as a creature with the head of a horse, large wings and claws and has a roughly four-foot-long serpentine body. Seeing the devil ushers the omen of disaster to come. According to early legends its appearances have come before shipwrecks and the outbreak of war.

The origin of this legend begins in the 18th century with a Mrs. Leeds who was living in poverty with her 12 starving children, found out that she was expecting her 13th child and issued a statement that she did not want anymore children and to let this one be a devil. When the child was born, it was deformed, legend says that it crawled from Mrs. Leeds womb and up the chimney and out into the woods. There are rumors that it has fed on small children and livestock all the while haunting the area for years to come. There are rumors that the creature was exorcised from the area in 1740 but the exorcism ritual only banished it for a 100 years allowing it to return in the year 1840. There have been reports of the Jersey Devil being sighted up to present day.

The Jersey Devil is not the only urban legend to come out of the Pine Barrens there are many reports of a ghostly apparition named the White Stag that appears to forewarn of disaster. It is reported that this White stag apparition appeared and saved a run away stagecoach filled with people from crashing and killing all.

Another reported urban legend of this region is that of the Black Doctor. There was a black doctor named James Still who lived in the 19th century. He had always wanted to be a doctor but the color of his skin made it almost impossible for him to do this. The story goes that he retreated to the Pine Barrens to study his medical books and learn herbal medicine from the local Indians. He then began to help people in need even after his death.

Our next cursed location is in Connecticut in the small town of Dudleytown, Dudleytown is located in the woods of Cornwall Ct. It’s an abandoned 18th century village. This small village in the northern corner of Connecticut is one of the most intriguing haunted locations in the United States.

The first plot of land in Dudleytown was acquired by a man named Thomas Griffis in the year of 1738. Soon others including the Dudley family members bought land and settled around the Griffis plot later in the mid 1740s. All though life for these early settlers was difficult, they managed an existence through cutting lumber for a nearby town’s iron production. Farming was difficult due to the acidic soil and the lack of sun as the town itself sits in the shadows of three mountains.

Many people believe that Dudleytown became cursed because of the curses plaguing the Dudley family when they arrived from England. Some people believe that the Dudleys came from a long line of cursed ancestors including a primary carrier of the Bubonic plague. There is also talk of a family member a well to do Lord that lost his head along with Lady Jane Grey. Still others believe that the reason that the Dudleys left England was because of a curse put on them and all generations of the family by a powerful royal family member. Many also believe that this land that the town was settled on was also cursed to begin with and that possibly that is why the Dudleys felt the desire to settle there.
There were four Dudley family members, possibly brothers that show up on land records for the settlement, they were Abiel, Barzillai, Gideon, and Abijah Dudley. Abiel is the first one to be listed on tax records and seemingly the first one to have been struck by the Dudleytown curse. It is said that he lost all his money and became mad. This seemed to be the start of what would soon become the norm in Dudleytown, reports of insanity, murder and suicide. The first recorded fatality was in 1792 when a man fell while he was repairing a barn roof, he was believed to have been murdered by the owner of the barn, it is reported that the owner of the barn soon became insane due to all the speculation as to the man’s death.

The list of strange occurrences and death go on, in 1793 the Carter family members were all but wiped out by Indians, in 1804 a young woman was struck and killed by lightening, her husband went insane, the wife of Horace Greeley hung herself in 1872.

In the 19th century many people reported seeing strange apparitions as well as beasts, there were reports of corpse mutilations, as well as strange and unusual deaths. By 1900 the town was almost deserted.
Still the strange thing was that people still tried to live in Dudleytown, in the 1920s a doctor and his wife set up a summer home in the now abandoned town. Upon arriving from a business trip he found his wife laughing hysterically, she told him that she had seen demons and apparitions that visited her while he was gone. He quickly moved her back to New York City where she killed herself.

The strange thing is that the doctor remarried and continued to spend his summers in Dudleytown. He in fact was one of the founders of the Dark Entry Forrest Association that still helps to protect what remains of Dudleytown today.
Today there are many reports of disembodied voices, whispers and laughing, people have reported being pushed and shoved by unseen hands, the apparition of a woman on a white horse has been spotted amongst other apparitions. There is a feeling of all over despair once entering into the abandoned village, shadows seem to move and oddly enough there is no sound of birds or any other life in the village.

Another haunted area in neighboring Long Island is in the township of Amityville. This small middle class American town came to the public knowledge November of 1974 when six members of the DeFeo family were found murdered in their home on 112 Ocean Avenue. The dead consisted of the Mother and Father and four of their five children, the surviving family member Ronnie DeFeo would be later charged with their murders, he later claimed that something demonic came over him forcing him to kill his family members.

Two years later a family moved into 112 Ocean Avenue where they claimed to have suffered from the unnatural evil, they fled 28 days later completely abandoning all their possessions. Here began the urban legend of Amityville. Some believe that the house was built on old Indian burial ground, some believed that the house was built on land that one of the judges from the Salem Witch trials owned, all of this resulting in the land being cursed. No one knows for sure there are many ideas and theories on what went on and why. Some believe that the house is still cursed, no one since the family in 1976 has had any problems, waiting for the right family to move in.

Our next cursed area began in Clendenin, West Virginia and ended at Point Pleasant, West Virginia on the border of West Virginia and Ohio. This strange occurrence began in November of 1966 when a group of five men was working in a cemetery when they saw what looked like a brown human like being that flew over their heads. To them it did not appear to be a large bird but rather a man with wings, soon over the whole region there were reports of more sightings of this Mothman creature. There were many descriptions of this creature as the sightings became more and more plentiful. The descriptions said that this creature was between 6 and 7 feet tall, with large red glowing eyes that were attached to a human like head, its wings were folded on its back. Many people reported that this creature would emit a loud whining sound that raised to a high pitch then ceased. The area dogs would howl at it. One farmer’s dog went after the creature when it was seen at his farm, the dog was never seen again, and the farmer was scared to death by the experience.
Some people believe that the Mothman sightings were a harbinger of disaster, this came true when on December 15, 1967 the Point Pleasant bridge collapsed during rush hour traffic, sending a dozen vehicles into the dark waters of the Ohio river all totaled 46 people were killed, 2 bodies have never been found the other 44 were buried all together in the town cemetery.

This is one of the few urban legends that do not seem to be a hoax there were just too many credible witnesses to the strange events, this case even though some can logically explain the strange creature as sandhill cranes that are not native of the area, but witnesses clearly state that the creature did not resemble the crane, still others believe that many people were spooked by the many reports and perhaps saw owls flying overhead. Whatever the creature was the Mothman sightings remain very hard to dismiss.

Although these are a few of the many areas where strange things have happened, many people believe that these occurrences can be explained, many other people believe that these events are in fact paranormal, perhaps these areas are windows for some other world, or the force of a lost continent, what ever the reason, these areas still draw our attention to them. Check back for more cursed areas.

It seems that ghost hunting has become quite a popular sport over the past few years. What could be more exciting than the thrill of walking into a cemetery and hoping to have an encounter with a spirit? Many cemeteries are very notorious for sightings of spirits and many people hoping to get a thrill flock to the cemeteries to catch a glimpse of a specter.

But can we be sure that these spirits are those of the people that are buried there and not some evil entity just waiting to cause harm to some unsuspecting ghost hunter? Evil spirits are attracted to cemeteries for many reasons; the human suffering of the loved ones that have lost someone in death draws them into this place. They are also drawn by the decaying of the human body, which was made in the image of God.

Also many people bring Ouija boards to the cemeteries to try and make contact with ghosts. Unfortunately they are not sure what they have invited into their circle. Most times these evil entities start out claiming to be the spirit of a deceased person that has died tragically in some sort of strange accident. This way the evil spirit can sucker the unsuspecting ghost hunters into believing that they are helping a spirit by communicating with it, this gives the demonic more and more energy to manifest into something that the unsuspecting did not count on.

So would be ghost hunters must be wary of becoming the hunted in their endeavors to find evidence of ghosts. There are many things one can do to protect themselves against possible onslaught of a demonic entity.

The first most important thing to do is to envision oneself in a "Christ like" white lights, to do this imagine that you are on a stage and a white spotlight is shinning down on you. This is the light of Christ's protection. Also ask for God's protection before entering any known haunted area or house. Also remember that it is important that you believe that God and his angels will protect you because this protection is only as powerful as you believe in your heart it to be.

Also remember that a spirit whether good or bad can come to you at anytime or place, so be prepared for this. Know the risk that you are taking before you venture out for some "fun" it just might not be the kind of fun that you are looking for.

There are many different forms of magic. Many spell casters learn more than one form. These forms each require certain rituals to be done in order to have anything happen. Some of the different forms prohibit the use of other magic rituals these usually are the ones that involve invoking spirits.

Following are some of the different forms of magic, note that most offer a form of divination, which is the foretelling of the future by supernatural means. All forms are dangerous to the person that is not aware of the consequence in doing the ritual. Always remember that in invoking or summoning a spirit during a ritual the spirit usually requires some sort of payment like a contract. This can be as simple as calling on a spirit and then promising to have regular ceremonies in remembrance of this spirit to a contract that implies much worse consequence. A contract of this type is usually promised to a demonic spirit for something that they did for the caster. A demonic contract of such is more tight and inflexible and is usually that you will give us this. So spell casters beware!

The first form of magic is elemental magic and it deals with calling on elemental spirits. These are usually spirits that deal with nature like light, ice, wind, trees, fire, etc. In this form of magic the caster calls on the various types of elementals to perform the minor tasks and to give the caster the knowledge that they seek. The caster then contacts these spirits that can bring the information of several types in order to aid him in his foretelling and spells.

Another form of magic is crystalomancy or crystal gazing. It is a divination practice that has been practiced since ancient times. A person attempting this form of magic can use any transparent object, such as crystals, crystal ball, mirror or water. A practitioner in this art is generally known as a crystallomacers or crystal gazer. Crystal gazers usually use a sphere or an oval globe made of genuine rock crystal. The color can vary and it can either be transparent or opalescent depending on the gazer's desire. The crystal itself must be with out any flaws and a perfect ball and stands on a base that is ebony, ivory or boxwood.

The ceremony of crystalomancy is an elaborate ritual and can be used for a variety of reasons and have been used in the finding of missing persons. The images that are produced by the crystal gazer are left open to careful interpretation and could be easily misinterpreted.

The next form of magic is that of necromancy. Necromancy is the speaking with the dead. Many practitioners of this art summon up dead spirits to gain lost knowledge or guidance. This along with all other forms of magic can be very dangerous to the novice or person looking to get some kicks with the paranormal realm. In summoning up spirits one can never be sure as to what you have summoned. Many a reckless practitioner has summoned a spirit hoping to gain the wisdom of the ages and instead has contacted the terror of the ages. So beware!

Hydromancy is the next form of ritual magic and is the process of divination by water. It is similar to crystalomancy and has several different methods to the process. One method uses a ring suspended from a string over a shaken vessel of water, another method is throwing three stones into standing water and making observations from the circles formed in the water. Still other methods use words pronounced over water, oil being dropped in water, watching the whirls and current in a river, still other methods relay on the agitation of the water. Once again the interpretation is left up to the practitioner.

The next form of magic is blood magic or sanguimancy. This is not a blood spilling magic as the name suggests but rather the bloodline of the practitioner.
The practitioner's ancestry may have included demons, fairies, imps, or the like. These spell casters magic is much wilder and use other forms of magic too.

Totemancy is the form of magic that deals with the spirits of animals. This is usually done in wide-open places. The practitioner calls on these spirits in order to enhance their physical abilities. Like for instance the practitioner may call on the spirit of a wolf to enhance their ability to be cunning and have sharp senses like that of a wolf, or they may call on the spirit of a mountain lion to enhance their ability to be sleek and agile.

There are many more forms of ritual magic all equally dangerous to the unwary practitioner. These should never be attempted by anyone not familiar in the ritual or the consequences of what might happen.

Every one is intrigued by a full moon. There have been many stories written about the effects on a person during the full moon. The most famous one is of the werewolf. In the story it was believed that during the full moon a person bitten by a werewolf would turn into a wolf and feed its hunger on unsuspecting victims.

Still today there are many stories of a person going insane during the full moon. Many nurses and doctors report that their patients tend to act in different manners during a full moon as opposed to any other time of the month. There seems to be a rise in crime during a full moon also.

Possibly this is due to the moon pulling on the earth more at this time than other times and this might influence people in different ways.

Many occult religions practice special rituals during a full moon to use the energy given off at that time.

Many people have wondered why an exorcism is more effective than just the person that is under demonic attacks rebuking the demon in Jesus Christ's name is. People wonder why it works and why is it really needed.

The definition of exorcism is the ritual act of driving out evil, demons, or spirits from places, such as homes, lands or buildings and from persons or even things in which demons are thought to dwell. Exorcism can occur in all societies of people from the most primitive to the most sophisticated. We apply the term exorcism to all the acts that are used to dispel or frighten the demons or spirits away.

To be possessed means that a demonic entity has gained mastery over your whole body and it controls your whole life. Your free will has been taken over by the demon along with your intellect, reason, sight, thoughts, hearing, and speech; every facet of your life is controlled by this entity. This demonic entity clouds your whole being so that even the light of faith cannot enter.

A person's capacity to welcome God into his life is blurred by sin. Most of the time evil occupies a place in a person that God wishes to dwell. Jesus Christ was born so that man could be freed from evil and sin. That is the reason that we cast out demons in Jesus' name so that once this person is free from the evil he or she is free to find a place for Jesus and or God in our lives.

If we look at the teachings of Jesus Christ we will find that he encouraged and endorsed the use of exorcisms. Demonology is a prominent motif in the gospels. The evangelists portrayed Jesus as one who was locked in mortal combat with demonic forces. In this struggle every successful exorcism represents a victory over Satan and his minions.

Christian's believe that a higher authority is needed to bind the entity in order to control it and command it to act differently than its own will. Christians believe that this higher authority is Jesus Christ. In the scriptures the belief is that these demons, devils and evil spirits are afraid of Christ and that just by mentioning his name during the ritual will cause the demons to flee. Christ handed his disciples and his church the power to exorcise demons in his name.

The whole exorcism ritual can take as short a time as fifteen minutes or it can go on for days. The devil knows that it must leave so we work like everything depends on us and we pray like everything depends on God. We try to be positive and trusting no matter how long it takes or how many times we have to repeat the prayer. When it comes right down to it this all happens in God's time and not ours.

Even though the word exorcism can be a frightening thought it also can be a quick appealing fix. As Jesus said in the gospels, when two or more are gathered in my name there I am also. Exorcism treats the presence of evil in the world seriously and gives us hope in the liberation through Christ.

Jack-O-Lantern this symbol comes down from the Celtic practice of carrying the embers home from the sacred bonfire, they used hollowed out turnips to carry these embers home. These embers were used to relight their fireplaces.

Black cats are symbol of Halloween because they are believed to be the reincarnated spirit. Also black cats are believed to be the familiars of witches. Familiars are believed to be low-ranking demons that are in constant attention to witches for the purpose of carrying out their spells.

Trick or Treating door to door by children comes down from the ancient practice of children going door to door in Medieval times begging for cakes on All Souls Day (November 1). The children then recited prayers for the dead relatives of the people that would give them cakes (treats). And if the person did not give the children cakes then they would not receive any prayers for their dead family members (trick)

Witches are symbols of Halloween because of the folklore surrounding them using magic, once Christianity spread witches got a bad name and many believed that witches were in league with devil worship at that time.

Witches broom is a symbol brought down from ancient times and it stems from a fertility dance that was done around the full moon. It involved an old corn broom and jumping over the broom during the dance. This was done to insure fertility either in a person or livestock. It is believed that this evolved into witches riding brooms in the full moon because as Christianity spread many of the old superstitions, like this fertility dance became more and more like magic and witch craft instead of just superstitions. Also some believed that a witch could turn her magic wand into a broom in order to hide it.

Witches hat is a symbol that probably came down from the peasant woman’s hats at the time of the witch trials in the 16th century.

Elemental spirits are believed to be spirits of things that inhabit nature. In the era of ancient religions where the belief of animism was common in many societies the belief in the existence of elemental spirits was almost universal. Animism is the belief that trees, mountains, rivers and other natural formations possess a spirit that can bring them to animation.

Today in most occultists and Neo-pagan witches the belief that all things possess life is prevalent. The elemental spirits are thought to possess supernatural powers that render them invisible to humans except if the human has psychic ability.

Along with the nature spirits are the elves who live in the woods and household spirits such as goblins and brownies are included in the classification of elementals. Sometimes fairies and mannikins are included in this classification. Mannikins are male fairies that have the same characteristics as gnomes and elves. There is a controversy among many different writers on the subject of whether elementals are friendly nice little creatures of nature or whether they are evil or mischievous little creatures that cause confusion and pain to humans. Some have classified them as between angel and man and can come in animal or human form.

There are many beliefs as to exactly where the elemental spirit originated. Some believe that the elemental spirit such as elves and the like resulted from Lilith’s conception. Lilith was believed to be the original succubi and was the personification of female lust. Some believe that she mated with Adam before Eve. Some say she seduced Adam while others believe that she conceived from his nocturnal emissions. These elementals that resulted from Lilith’s conception are believed to inhabit secret parts of the earth. The writers that believe the elementals to be benevolent creatures and they are believed to maintain the natural harmony. These writers also believe that these spirits are ruled or governed over by a higher spirit such as archangels.

Some groups of people believe that elementals lack a soul and that they roam the world seeking to have a sexual union with humans in order for this to happen. This is done through means of an incubus or a succubus as the case may be. Since these spirits are capable of having sex and bearing children so their offspring would carry the elemental stigma to show that they are not truly human.

Many folklore stories contain tales of such offspring of a human and an elemental such as Hercules, Alexander the great, Julius Caesar and more. Some believe that many of these human-elemental unions existed in the royal houses of France and England also.

While some elementals are deceitful and hateful and love to cause problems and tragedies to humans, these entities are associated with a ritual black magic and are sent on their attacks by the practitioners. These spirits are summoned up during the ritual and attach themselves to the victim’s aura. In this way they can drain energy from their victim through the aura. This can cause a whole gambit of problems for the intended victim unless the elemental is properly removed.

Thought-forms are elemental spirits that are created artificially. Since they are considered a non-physical entity they only exist in a mental plane, but they can be seen and felt by intuitive people such as psychics. Many folklore and religions from around the world believe in elementals. In Japan the Shinto religion worship nature and its forces and spirits. While the Romans and Greeks believed that spirits inhabit every thing in nature including the air. The Native North American Tribes believed in water babies that inhabited every bodies of water. To the Native American these spirits were not malicious but at times they could be play tricks on humans so they feared them.

Still other areas of the world believe that these little people had in fact special powers and could bestow these on humans.

The Chupacabra is a creature that has been sighted all over the world but the most sightings have been in South America and Puerto Rico. It is somewhat human in appearance, has fangs and has spines along its back. It has wings that are said to be seven feet wide. The Chupacabra or goat sucker is four feet tall and is tailless. It has two long arms that end in claws. There are varied descriptions of it resembling something that is crossed between an ape, human and bird. It has the fangs and stomach of a vampire and is as agile and strong as a panther.

No one is sure where it came from but it has been responsible for many deaths of goats and other animals. Just like vampires, the Chupacabra drinks the animal's blood. Animal carcasses have been found completely drained from their blood. There are many reports of seeing something resembling the description of the Chupacabra just before the dead animals were found. Many authorities believe that the Chupacabra might be a very large species of bat, but eye witnesses do not believe this. There are bats that do drink the blood from animals, such as cows, but they are not as large as the reported sightings of the Chupacabra.

It is reported that these creatures live in underground caves and only come out at night. Lately there have been a few reports of a similar creature attacking animals in the Miami area of Florida.

Lycanthropy comes from the Greek word lukos meaning wolf and the Greek word anthropos meaning man and translates into wolfman. So lycanthropy is the transformation of a human into a wolf. Usually it is a man but occasionally it can be a woman or a child.

There are two kinds of lycanthropy one exhibited as a mania in which the person believes himself to be a wolf and roams the country side to feed his craving for blood by killing and eating its victims.

The second type is accomplished through the use of ointments or charms, which have the magical power to turn a human into a werewolf. The term werewolf comes from the old English word wer or man plus wolf, which becomes manwolf.

There are many theories as to how a person becomes a werewolf. One is that the person controls the animal with his mind and makes the animal do what he commands. Another is that a person can deliberately transforms himself into the animal, as a sorcerer would do so as to do evil or kill his enemies. Not only can sorcerers change into wolfs but other animals as well, but also prefer the wolf the best as it is the most feared of any animal.

Throughout the world there has been many a belief in lycanthropy, the Navajo Indians believed that witches could turn themselves into the animals by just wearing the skin of the animal on their back. In medieval times the European countries were in fear of werewolves and they thought that these werewolves were servants of the devil.

Throughout centuries there have been many stories of werewolf and cannibalism in the courts. Many men were convicted of killing and eating their victims. Even in modern day there have been cases of men believing that they are werewolves. These modern day werewolves are thought to be possessed by the spirit of a wolf rather than being bitten by a werewolf as portrayed in Hollywood movies.

Everyone has seen at least one horror movie that has a person in the bathroom. The mirror is all fogged up and they turn away and when they turn back there is a message on the mirror. Mirrors are believed to be the windows to other realities. There are many portals in our homes that open and close all the time, mirrors are thought to be just one of these portals.

The entity uses the mirror to communicate with a person, this can be done on a fogged up mirror either through a message written in words or by drawing a picture. Unlike a person writing on a fogged up mirror one letter at a time, these messages manifest immediately in their entirety.

Mirrors have longed been used to receive messages from beyond. They enable one to see the past, present and future. This is called mirror scrying. Mirrors can also be used to communicate with a sprit by means of a psycomanthium. In a psycomanthium, a person is seated before a large mirror, the room is dark and a candle is placed behind them, the person then commands a spirit to come forth in the mirror which is then visible. This spirit can then answer questions of the person. This is very dangerous.

Many people report out of body experiences or OOBE as they are commonly called. An OOBE is when it is believed that your astral body or soul travels either with your conscious effort or without. Quite a few people learn to control this OOBE as a way of tuning in to their psychic self. Many other people are unwitting travelers that have this experience because of stress in their lives. Still others seem to have this experience as a forewarning of coming events either paranormal or the norm. Also OOBE should not be confused with sleep walking.

We have had many people report of OOBE here are just a few. One woman after a very trying day laid down on the couch in her living room, well in view of her husband and two kids. A few miles away her sister was just getting out of the shower and walked into her room to find her sister lying on her side in the bed. The sister was shocked and as she went to say something her sister disappeared. She called her sister and woke her up to find that she had indeed been sleeping and had not left her house. The woman did not remember her travels either.

Another story of OOBE was reported to us by a man who was watching TV in the living room of his home. His wife was not feeling well and decided to go to bed early. About an hour after she fell asleep the man looked up and saw his wife walk into the room and over to his chair and touch his arm at that she disappeared. The man jumped up and ran to his bedroom and found his wife asleep. Upon waking her up she had no recollection of walking in her sleep or of dreaming of walking in her sleep.

Another young mother reported to us that she had been having OOBE since she was in her teens. She had actually felt herself being pulled down the sheets of the bed by her ankles and out of the bed and into the room. One time she woke up in this state and was able to look down on her bed and tops of her dresser. This frightened her and she woke up in her bed. Another time during one of these experiences she was pulled out of bed in the same manner and she began to go down a tunnel, similar to the near death experiences. Once again she became frightened and returned to her bed.

This happened many times to her and once she realized that she could stop it by being frightened she decided to make a conscious effort to see what happened if she would continue on her trip. The next time it happened she allowed her self to go down the tunnel. At the end she found a bright light in front of her and to her left was what resembled a prison. It was dark in there and there were many dark skin men talking in a strange language.

To her right was what resembled an office, there was a partition so you could not see inside but there was a lot of light coming from that direction. As soon as she saw this she woke up back in her bed and was never to have anymore OOBE again.

We have found out that OOBE can be used to "stalk" people too. One woman that suffered under an African curse would wake to see the perpetrator standing over her bed at night. Sometimes she would see her as she showered or sat in the living room. It seemed that no matter where she went this woman would astral project her image to her. She felt that this was used to keep an eye on her.

There is a myth that waking someone who is in the process of astral projection can cause him or her great harm or even death. We know of no such cases but feel that OOBE can be dangerous especially if you don't understand what you are doing.

Ever drive down a dark road at night and feel like you are not alone? There could be a reason for this; you could have picked up a spirit hitchhiker or phantom traveler along the way. These spirit travelers are ghosts of human and even animals that haunt the many roads in the world today. There have been reported sightings of these entities in vehicles or places of transportation such as train stations, airports and way stations along the way.

They appear to haunt specific locations and types of transportation due to a tragedy associated with them.

There have been many reports of these travelers that date from the 1600s in Europe and Russia to the present.

All these reports have one thing in common these phantom travelers appear from nowhere and can just as suddenly disappear.

In New England there is a report of a man, a young girl and a coach seen traveling the roads between Connecticut and Boston. Many travelers from the early 1800s to the present have witness this apparition, all report seeing the same man and daughter and coach that seemed chased by clouds. Few people have reported that the coach and passengers do occasionally stop to ask directions to Boston and all report that the man drives the coach off in the opposite direction from where he is told to head. There is a record of a man and his daughter starting out for Boston and not heeding a warning about an approaching storm, the two were never see again.

There are many reports of ghosts on trains in the world, from the mysterious woman in black who cradles her husbands decapitated head in her lap on a British train, to a spectral hobo that rides the rails in Southern Georgia and many more stories all have the same thing in common all have met with some mishap while on a train and seem to be forever doomed to travel the same route.

There are reports of travelers that haunt airports and airplanes too. In London’s Heathrow airport there is a report of a ghost that haunts a run way there. The story is that this person died on this runway in the late 1940s. The plane crash killed all 22 people on board. Almost immediately after the crash rescue workers reported seeing this man dressed in a dark suit and bowler hat, where he walked up to them and asked them if they had found his briefcase. He has been reported quite a lot especially on foggy London nights.

Another apparition around the airport haunts the VIP lounges this is a different ghost and not much is known about this visitor that wears a light gray suit.

Not all phantom travelers have the luxury of riding either planes or trains; many of these visitors have to result to hitch hiking to make their way from one point to another. Most of the reported phantom hitchhiker stories have to do with a woman or young girl ghost that is most often seen by male drivers. These sightings seem to be of a damsel in distress, it is late at night, a remote stretch of the road, they usually appear in the headlights of the approaching car, dressed in white and most often are wet even if it’s not raining or there is no body of water around.

The same story permeates through out, the driver stops asks if she needs a ride, he notices she is cold and wet and offers her his jacket, she gets in the back, tells him where she is going, sometimes telling him her name. He takes her to the address looking occasionally in his rear view mirror to see how beautiful she is.

Upon reaching at the address she gave him he turns and notices she is gone, his jacket is on the seat where she was sitting, the seat is damp as is the jacket. Depending on the story she may leave something behind a scarf or a book.

The startled driver goes to the door of the address, usually a woman or man answers the door, tells him that this usually happens and it’s usually around the anniversary of their daughter’s death.

She was murdered or died in an accident near the location of where he picked her up. They eventually show him a picture of the girl to make him believe. One last thing if the phantom hitchhiker disappears wearing the driver’s jacket upon visiting the ghost grave he finds his jacket draped over the headstone.

One of the most famous phantom hitchhikers is that of Resurrection Mary who haunts a suburb of Chicago. It is believed that Mary was killed in a car accident around 1934 after she was dancing at the O. Henry Ballroom; there are reports of her spirit appearing around 1939. The tales tell of the spirit of Mary asking to be taken to the Ballroom where she dances all night long. At closing time she asks to be taken to Archer Road back towards the Resurrection Cemetery. As the car nears or passes the cemetery Mary disappears, during the renovation of the cemetery in the 1970s there were a lot of reports of Mary, some passersby would see her standing inside the large iron gates and thinking someone was locked inside would call for help in getting her out, but no matter how much they checked there would be no one in side the cemetery late at night.

There is another tale of a phantom traveler on a bus in Chicago, a young girl boarded a bus that was headed for downtown, at the end of the route the driver approached the young girl to ask for payment, she disappeared right before his eyes.

Just remember the warning that your parents gave you never to pick up hitchhikers, well it may not be an ax murderer you pick up, it may just be a phantom hitchhiker.

What are phone calls from the dead? This is a phenomenon that occurs to an individual from a close relationship of that person. Usually such phone calls occur within a 24-hour occurrence of the death or some have been known to happen up to 2 years of the death. What happens during these phone calls is that the deceased person needs to contact the living and some how uses their supernatural presence to manipulate the phone circuitry so some how make the phone call.

Usually the phones ring is flat and different from a regular call and there is a lot of static on the line. The voice is recognizable to the person and the phone call is ended abruptly by the line going dead. Sometimes if the person is unaware that the caller has died the phone call may go on for quite sometime.

The reasons for these calls maybe that the caller feels that he or she has some much needed information for the person on the other end. Like in the case of Ida Lupino the movie actress. Shortly after her father’s death she received a phone call from him telling her information about certain papers that she would need to settle his estate. Some calls are made to warn of up coming dangers or as a farewell message to the living. Maybe this person died before he got a chance to say good-bye or maybe the person felt that there was a need to warn the living person about some actions that they were involved in that could lead to their death.

Still other phone calls are made in observance of a holiday, birthday or anniversary. Still other calls are made to bring attention to the persons passing. A girl of 18 was sitting home one night watching TV when the phone rang a few times. She picked up the phone, there was no sound from the phone, and it seemed to have a hollow sound to the open line. Then a small sound of a woman talking came over the line, the voice said “ I will always be there for you, and the line went dead. Later she was to find out that her beloved grandmother had passed at the same moment that the phone rang, her grandmother had always promised her that she would always be there for the young woman. Was this a message from her grandmother? Or had the phone call just been crossed wires and the young woman imagined the message?

Many people do not take much stock in these phone calls. They believe that its hallucinations on the part of the receiver or maybe just an over whelming desire to talk to the deceased one last time. Still other callers believe that these are tricks played on humans by evil spirits creating misery for them.

These calls can go in reverse too, a person can make a call to another person unaware that they have passed and talk to them normally and later find out that the recipient is all ready dead at the time of the call. There have been many cases of adult children calling their parents and talking to them in a normal manner and finding out later that these parents have been deceased. One young woman from California had this urgent feeling to call her father who lived alone in Maine. She dialed his number sure that something was wrong with him, but was relieved to find out that he was fine. They carried on a conversation for quite sometime and ended with her father telling her he never felt better in his life. Later that day the state police called to tell her that there had been a terrible ice storm in Maine the night before and her father had slipped and fell and hit his head. The state police told her that he had died immediately upon falling and had lain out in the ice storm for nearly 24 hours until he was found a short while ago by the mail person.

The woman could not believe that because she had only two hours prior talked to her father on the phone, slowly she realized that she must have spoken to her father’s spirit rather than her father.

In the 1940s Thomas Edison attempted to work on a telephone that he hoped might contact the dead, he called it the psychic telephone. He never finished it.

Everyone has seen a movie about vampires, blood sucking creatures of the night that feed off innocent victims draining them of their life essence. Fictional story right? Perhaps, but there are indeed vampires walking amongst us every day, feeding off our own life essence and we don’t even know it.

These vampires are not the blood sucking ones of tales but rather psychic vampires, these are people that feed off of another persons energy. These psychic vampires can either be men or women and can either be young or old, they can be professionals, wealthy or poor, they come from every walk of life.

Everyone has encountered a meeting with a person that has left them totally drained or have awakened at night feeling paralyzed almost as if they are being held down by a dark force, these are examples of psychic vampirism.

Psychic vampires unlike blood sucking vampires are real and not made up of someone’s imagination. The way a psychic vampire attacks it through the solar plexus almost as if the person was having a heart attack, causing the person to wake up frightened. Through the fear that the person gives off the psychic vampire then takes enough energy and leaves the person awakens the next morning slightly tired due to the loss of energy.

These attacks go on nightly as the psychic vampire needs the energy to continue. These attacks can occur between 3 and 5 am all though these vampires can and do attack during the day time as well. A very strong psychic vampire can attack a person great distances as well.

There are intentional psychic vampires that are usually evil people who freely choose to feed off of a person in hopes of gaining strength and power from a person. These intentional psychic vampires feed on the energy of a person through manipulation of your energy this is done through leeching into your arua and feeding until they are full from your energy. This helps them to enhance their own psychic abilities. This can cause a person that is under attack from a psychic vampire to feel tired, sick, depressed and the feeling of not being able to cope with life.

There are some signs that a person could indeed be a psychic vampire, they first have some kind of psychic ability, this may cause them to want more and thus look for a person that has a stronger psychic ability and attack them in hopes of becoming stronger themselves. A person that is a psychic vampire could be a very moody and hostile person, their moods change with their energy levels, they tell you about bad things that happen in their lives to make you feel sad and emotional, they tend to loose friends causing them to be loners and they usually hide behind someone that is easy to manipulate.

Once an intentional psychic vampires knows you and has leeched off your energy they will go out of their way to interfere in your life in order to create emotions so that they can feed off of them. They will create fights in relationships, influence you into negative situations, they will create pain, anger, frustrations, hate, sadness and panic.

There is a way to rid one’s self of a psychic vampires. You will need two white candles some incense, sea salt and oil, like holy oil. Place one white candle in the upper right hand corner and the other in the upper left hand corner. In the middle of the two candles place the sea salt in a small cup with boiling warm water the incense in front of you. Take the oil and anoint each item. With the candle start in the middle and rub up and in the middle and go down, while saying " I ward off any and all negativity, in my home, work, school and everyday life. No evil or negativity shall enter here."

After anointing every item picture yourself in a white light, picture a white light all around you, your home, work and school. While doing so repeat the following saying:

Psychic vampires who lurk at night
Psychic vampires who try to destroy my life
Destroy no more of what I have achieved
Destroy no more of what I have received
Negativity is not welcome
Evil as well is not welcome
In me, around me, or around people I love

Say this as many times as you feel it has worked, continue to picture yourself in a white light and let the white candles and incense burn until it goes out by itself.

A shape shifter is a mythical creature that takes the shape of something or someone else in order to carry out its evil deeds. In the Philippines the people there believe that the Aswang roams amongst them. The Aswang is a mythological creature that is a shape shifter and is in the same league as a Vampire. Unlike Vampires though the Aswang eats off of the dead rather than the living. These creatures are known to steal the dead body and to replace it with the likeness of the deceased carved from a trunk of a banana tree. They are also known to steal and eat small children, their favorite body part are the liver and heart.

As in the stories of Vampires the Aswang’s are ordinary people by day in an occupation that is related to butchering meat. They seem to possess an ageless appearance are quiet in nature not wanting to call attention to themselves, they seem to blend in with the background.

There are some distinguishing signs to set them apart from ordinary humans, first they have blood shot eyes, this is due to them staying up all night looking for fresh deceased bodies. Another way to distinguish them from other normal people is that your reflection in their eyes is inverted.

They have been known to shape shift into animals, like a pig, dog or black bird and back to human again. While they are on the look out at night for newly deceased bodies they walk with their feet facing backwards.

The myth says that an Aswang can be revealed and dealt with through Catholic prayers that are prayed over a special oil that is made from coconuts and the coconut plant’s stem. The oil is put in a pot and when the Aswang comes near it begins to boil until it has left the vicinity of the pot.

Like many myth based stories the Aswang is told to children in hopes of keeping them off the streets at night, like Dracula perhaps the myth of the Aswang is indeed based on true accounts of an evil person.

Most people tend to think of the term Soul Mate meaning your one true love the person that you were meant to be with through life, but it can mean many different things. Soul mates are souls that have had experiences in the past and who have worked together through these experiences.

Family members whether they are biological, adopted or in law families are your soul mates. It is felt that souls evolve and reverse roles through past lives. These soul mates are attracted to you because they are on the same frequency as your soul. Many times soul mates come together as in love to bring forth into the world a much needed soul, a child.

Some experts believe that soul mates evolve from past live experiences and that when a person goes looking for his or her soul mates they tend to look for a soul that they were in a past life, for example a man might look for the soul that looks and acts like he did as a woman in a previous life.

They believe that the person’s ideal partner is who they were in that physical body. These experts tend to believe that we are always looking for ways to experience ourselves.

There are many definition of spirit guides, one is that spirit guides are entities that have chosen you to help you on your path through life. These entities can guide you on your path to a higher consciousness. Some believe that spirit guides are the part of your soul that which remains on the other side. Some people with psychic abilities call on spirit guides to help them communicate or channel the spirit realm.

The spirit guides speak to a person on many levels, you might hear them as a little voice in your head, in a dream state, through meditations or some times they can manifest themselves through ectoplasm, in photos or in human form.

Many times spirit guides help bring forth deceased loved ones for closure and other emotional reasons. These spirit guides can be with you for your life or for a short time depending on your needs. Spirit guides vary in number but we all have at least one spirit guide that is with us from birth. More guides can come for specific purposes in our lives.

Guides are attracted by your energy field and may stay with you indefinitely or can come and go, but you may choose to tell a spirit guide to leave if you want.

Meeting your spirit guides is a form of channeling and is not for everyone and must be done with great care. You never know what if coming forth through channeling, if you feel that you have connected with a negative spirit or are bringing forth negative messages stop channeling and trying to meet your spirit guides.

On the first day ask only yes or no questions do this for the first few days and only ask the question once. Make sure that you sit in a quiet place and relax, you can keep your eyes open or closed and just listen to your thoughts.

Ask your question and allow the answer to come naturally, keep asking with a few more yes or no answers which are not of a personal nature, this is the way you are training your mind to hear the messages that your spirit guides are sending you.

On day two this is when you will get to know your spirit guides again practice asking non personal yes or no answers, pause with each question and listen with your mind. Say hello you should sense a greeting back to you. Ask your spirit guide its name listen hard, at first it may be hard to understand the name but keep listening then ask if it is all right if you call the spirit guide by the name you have heard.

Once you have heard them name and have felt that it is all right to call the spirit guide by that name ask if the spirit guide is ready for more questions, wait for the answer.

The next set of questions should pertain to the spirit guide perhaps about their place in your life, why they are connected to you, how they will help you what is the function and what is your mission.

For the next four days ask your spirit guide questions that interest you pertaining to past lives the universe and other dimensions, do not ask personal questions as of yet. Get to know your spirit guides and the way they communicate through these question times. Over these four days you will get to know your guide and to feel comfortable with it.

On the sixth day you may begin to ask personal questions, but not ones that pertain to your love life or job. Continue with the yes or no questions, like are you my only spirit guide etc. Do not ask for long detailed explanations ask the questions that only require short brief explanations.

At this time you might ask for other spirit guides to speak with you also.

On the seventh day you can begin to ask your spirit guides about your family once again this is not in reference to your love life or marriage or family of your adult life. Your questions might be about your biological family from past lives and their relationship to you. You might want to ask if the soul of a deceased family member is indeed the soul of a new family member perhaps a new born infant.

On the eighth day you can begin to ask questions about your career and job always asking the question as a yes or no answer. Then on day nine you may begin to ask yes and no question concerning your love life.

Over the next couple of days you may begin to ask more detailed questions about your love life goals that you must meet in your life and your job.

Working with your spirit guides is rewarding and can take time and patience to conceive a good working relationship.

As in all work with spirits care must be taken to make sure that you are not channeling or connecting with any negative entities.

The beginning of the religion Spiritualism can be traced back to 1848 when two sisters Catherine and Margaretta Fox began to communicate with a spirit in their family home in Hydesville, New York just south of Rochester.

One night as the family sat around there was a sound of tapping noises, Mr. Fox could find no apparent cause for these noises and having confided in neighbors was told that previous owners of his house had reported strange noises too.

Soon the girls began to communicate with the spirit; Kate (Catherine) was the first one to find out that she could communicate with Mr. Splitfoot, a common name for the devil at that time, by making a code of a serious of rapping and knockings.

Through this code the sisters were able to determine that their house was being haunted by the spirit of a peddler that was murdered in their house, all though no record of a missing peddler was found and no human remains were found in the basement, still may believed that one of the former owners was responsible for the murder, but no charges were ever filed.

This caused quite a sensation in the area, finally proof of life after death and a way to communicate with spirits. Soon crowds of people were descending on the village and the Foxes house to hear these sounds for themselves, distraught by the onslaught the parents sent the two sisters to live with a brother and a sister, the sounds stopped at the house in Hydesville but soon started up where the sisters were living in their brother and sisters house.

Kate began to hold sittings or gatherings so that people could witness the sounds themselves while her sister Margaret (Margaretta) held spirit circles, which became known as séances.

Soon Margaret received a spirit message that she must hold a large public demonstration of the tapings so she rented an auditorium where people paid one dollar a peace to see and hear the spirits. During this time another Fox sister, Leah became aware that she too could communicate with these spirits.

No one could detect any fraud on the sister’s part, soon with Leah as their manager the two Fox sisters began to tour the United States. Soon many people were converted to this new belief called “Spiritualism”.

During their life time the sisters held séances for many famous people, one of these famous people was Mary Todd Lincoln who wanted Kate to contact her late husband, President Abraham Lincoln, unfortunately there is no proof that the contact was ever made. Some of Margaret’s famous clients were, James Fenimore Cooper and Harriet Beecher Stowe.

All though a few Christian believed that the Foxes demonstrations validated their Christian beliefs of a resurrection and life eternal, many though looked on these sisters works as that of the devil.

All though there are reports that both sisters were fraudulent in reporting that they could indeed converse with spirits, spiritualist refused to believe that they were duped.

All thought both sisters eventually confessed to trying to scare their mother and then being afraid of being punished for doing that concocted a way of making those sounds seem like they were from spirits, then later they both recanted their confession and returned to the séance table.

The three Fox sisters never enjoyed the great success that they had before their confession, Leah Fox died in 1890, Kate Fox died in 1892 and Margaret Fox died in poverty in 1893.

The Fox’s home was moved from Hydesville to a spiritualist retreat of Lily Dale, NY. In 1915, unfortunately the home was destroyed in a fire in 1950. The camp is still there today and a very popular place, for spiritualist and people interested in the paranormal and spirit communication.

Spontaneous human combustion is the bodies ability to ignite, spoke or blister in the absence of any external source of ignition. The body burns itself completely, sometimes leaving a limb as evidence that there was a body, but not igniting the surrounding area, these fires come from within the body.

There have been many reports over the years of spontaneous human combustion, at least 200 known cases have been reported. The first known recorded person to die of spontaneous human combustion was a wife of a Frenchman in the year 1673, only her skull and finger bones were left, the straw of her mattress was only slightly damaged by the flames.

And in 1744 in England a woman found her father consumed by spontaneous human combustion on the floor of his bedroom, none of his nearby clothing had been touched.

Spontaneous human combustion has happened in modern times as well, a report in 1951 of a woman that was found in her apartment completely reduced to a pile of ashes with only her skull and a left foot untouched.

The phenomenon associated with spontaneous human combustion is that the heat required to reduce a body to ashes is 3,000 degrees and at this temperature the whole area around the bodies should have been reduced to ashes also, but they are not.

Not everyone though dies from spontaneous human combustion. In 1944 a man survived the experience he reported that there was no feeling of heat nor did he saw flames, he just saw smoke and felt no pain.

There have been a few witnessed incidents they describe that the person seems to explode into flames and that there is no possible source of ignition. The flames seem to erupt directly from the person’s skin. Other times the witnesses do not see any flames just smoke. Witness who are nearby report never hearing any cries of pain or for help nothing that would alert them to anything going on in the other room.

Some victims do exhibit burns on their bodies which start a small marks but grow larger and more painful and even some persons do have odd occurrences of smoke coming from their bodies.

There are many theories of what causes some people to spontaneous combust while others do not. Some experts believe that alcohol has a lot to do with it while others believe that many of the victims had been overweight and the body had deposits of flammable fat. Still others believed that it was a sign of God as a form of punishment for evil ways. Still other so called experts felt that it was a built up of static electricity that caused these spontaneous combustion events. Still others believed that a persons poor diet could cause a build up of explosive chemicals in ones digestive system. And lastly spontaneous human combustion has been blamed on the body being able to shot circuited somehow causing it to ignite on its own.

Spontaneous human combustion is still an unsolved mystery as no satisfactory explanation has ever been given nor has any conclusive explanation been reported.

hat is an urban legend? Well an urban legend is a strange story that is passed from one person to another and usually has not basis of truth to it. But all the things in an urban legend can happen but is unlikely to ever have happened.

They are usually told around campfires late at night and in college dorms and of course on computers. Everyone has heard an urban legend at one time or another and is passed from generation to generation. One of the oldest best-known urban legends is that of the “Man with the Hook Arm”. This story takes place in many areas of the country but always has the same format. A young couple is warned about parking in secluded areas because of a man that is terrorizing couples with his hook arm. In the story the girl hears a sound and the boyfriend drives away and later finds a hook hanging from the door handle of the car. Or in some stories the boyfriend gets out to investigates and is killed by the hookman. Of course there is no truth to any of this as there are no newspaper reports or police department reports to confirm this story.

There are many stories that are circulated through out college campuses about murders that prowl about looking for their next victim. One such is of that of two college roommates that have a signal about over night guests. They tie a scarf on the door to signal to the other one to sleep on the couch that night. One night one roommate comes home and is so tired that even though the scarf is on the door she goes in and climbs right into her bed. She does hear a lot of rustling and moaning coming from the other bed but she crashed sound asleep. In the morning she finds the room full of blood and her roommate murdered and a note on her lamp that read “ aren’t you glad you didn’t turn on the light?”. Once again there are no police reports to confirm that this actually took place.

Still another much repeated story is of the kidney removal story. That too varies from area to area and from person to person. Sometimes it’s a traveling salesman that is looking for some comfort from a prostitute and wakes up in a tub full of ice and blood with a note telling him to call 911 to save his life. Later at the hospital he is told that his kidney has been cut from his body while he slept. The National Kidney foundation has set up a special hot line to report anyone stealing a kidney in this manner to date no one has called that number.

Urban legends can involve all sorts of people, places, things and events but the original source is almost impossible to track down. As the stories are passed down from generation to generation or person to person things are added and changed to suit the teller’s interest. Many urban legends have more than one version and most disappear as fast as they get started but some do stay around for generations.

Vampire is defined as a corpse that can return to life at night to suck people's blood by biting them on the neck. A Vampire must do this to keep its strength. The victim eventually losses all strength and will soon die and become vampires also.

But are vampires real? There are many stories about these creatures from all over the world. Even today there are many superstitions surrounding vampires in European countries. In these countries people believe that if a person dies violently, by suicide or is condemned by their church these pour souls will become vampires.

The characteristics of a vampire are pale skin and a violent reaction to sunlight. Graves have been dug up to see if the suspected deceased is one of the undead. Signs of a corpse having a swollen appearance, lack of rigor mortis, and no signs of decay many years after burial was often a sign that the deceased was indeed a vampire and the only way to stop its feeding was to drive a wooden stake into its heart.
Europe is not the only place that Vampires were thought to reside; The United States had many outbreaks of Vampirism in the New England area in 1854, 1888, and 1890. One family in particular experienced a large amount of deaths among their 14 children. After the sixth child had passed a deceased daughter appeared to the woman in her dreams. Fearing that possibly this child was possessed by a vampire the family did the gruesome task of exhuming all their children's bodies. Each body, except the daughter's that appeared in the wife's dream, was decomposed, the daughter was preserved. The parents and towns people began the task of taking each dead child's heart and burning it in a fire before they reburied the body.

In the year 1854 in Connecticut a family came down with tuberculosis and the dreaded disease took the father and two sons' another became ill. In the year 1800s tuberculosis had no known cause or cure, superstitious family members began to believe that the deceased were indeed vampires. So once again they dug up the bodies and burned them before burying them once again.

During the next years there were many reported outbreaks of tuberculosis through out Vermont, Rhode Island and other New England states. Many townspeople looking for way to stop the disease exhumed the deceased and burned the hearts before reburying them.

In the late 1970s a sub-culture among the youth has grown up around vampire and is called Goth. Goth idolizes the vampire in many ways. Many vampire groups and clubs have surfaced around this sub-culture. There are many people that have even taken on the vampire way of life, by sleeping in coffins, sleeping during the day and only going out at night. Blood sucking has also been incorporated into their way of life, either drinking their own blood or a willing partner. Some vampires have even gotten fangs implanted over their own teeth to make their mouth more authentic looking.

Once thought to be stuff of horror movies, stories and superstitions some people today are living the vampire lifestyle.
